Clancy attributes the increase to the greed of oil and gas companies, highlighting that while the federal carbon price rose gas prices by only 2 cents last year, fossil fuel companies hiked prices by 18 cents. She argues that instead of addressing these issues and implementing a climate affordability plan, the government is prioritizing political gamesmanship, allowing corporations to profit at the expense of struggling Ontarians.
