The Ontario Greens, led by Mike Schreiner and Aislinn Clancy, have introduced a bill aimed at making electric vehicles (EVs) more affordable and accessible for Ontarians. The proposed Affordable Electric Vehicles and Accessible Charging Act would require the Minister of Transportation to develop a strategy focused on reducing EV costs and enhancing charging infrastructure. Additionally, the bill seeks to amend the building code to mandate EV charging stations in all new homes, ensuring that the growth of Ontario’s EV supply chain benefits local residents.
