During a recent question period, Ontario Greens leader Mike Schreiner condemned the Ford government’s handling of the housing crisis, which has led to a significant rise in homelessness across the province. He highlighted that no full-time minimum-wage worker in Ontario can afford average rent, with nearly 250,000 people currently experiencing homelessness. In Toronto alone, almost 93,000 individuals are on a waitlist for housing, facing an average wait time of 14 years. Schreiner criticized the government’s inaction on building affordable homes and raised concerns about the implications of proposed policies that could further marginalize vulnerable populations.
